Thank you bart.rocks5000

I've always wondered how nfo files were created.

You rock!

another simple way to create .nfo file is:

make new text documents

insert your information

"save as" name.nfo

change type to "all files"

Back in the days of diskswapping where you sent LHA files there was a "fileid.diz" file - what ever happened to them?

Who was smart enough to choose the NFO extension which, by default on Windows, is the system information tool?

Just imagine - all those new to this downloading something, double clicking the file and then getting System Information up with an error message swoon.gif

Theyre info files. the .nfo is there because it used to be a way to stay away from noobs. all you have to do is open up the .nfo file in notepad, or preferably, wordpad.

This is what I use.
