A Very Basic Guide to Mounting and Installing Games
This is intended for the 1st time gamer so please don't accuse me of trying to teach you to suck eggs if you know what you are doing
Sometimes you can have troubles and the .NFO is no help ive built this guide round Medal of Honor Airborne and look at the guide i have
QUOTE
Installation:
1. Unpack.
2. Install.
3. Use keygen.
4. Copy crack.
5. Enjoy!
With a bit of help you can get the knowledge to figure out what to do
1st you need to find the game that you want to play and download it, this should not be a problem for most but if you need help on downloading torrents then please check this link.
It can never hurt to scan all downloads before opening
In this day and age there are all manners mounting software but for this guide I shall be using Daemon Tools.
Ok the game has downloaded and we have our ISO file, this is an image of the retail CD/DVD (or an adapted image to make it work).
Open Daemon Tools>click on the Icon in the bottom right task manager then you click on the virtual drive and the following box will appear> click on the ISO of choice which is Medal of Honor Airborne in this case
You should then get the standard install screen for the game.
What you should do at this stage is open My Computer and right click on the drive with the game in

Choose the explore option then you should see the contents of the disc what we are looking for is the cracker folder in this case Hatred

You need to drag this to the desktop.
So now install the game the normal way and at 6.89gb I would go and make a cup of tea whilst installing as it's boring to sit and watch.
Ok so the install has finished, open the crack directory that we copied to desktop

You will notice that I have 3 files in the folder, if you have a .NFO file then you need to Right click on it and then open with and choose notepad or with a NFO viewer if you use one, and the .NFO will tell you how to continue, follow this to the letter.
As I don't have a .nfo this time what you can see is the keygen and the NO CD fix (MOHA.exe) so if the install asks you for the serial to install then open the keygen

I always like to click on the Generate button loads of times to get a good and random key but to be honest I don't think it really matters as it won't work online for multiplayer, just standalone 1 player mode. So after we have got this far we need to add the NO CD FIX (MOHA.exe). Copy the file right click on the desktop icon for your game choose properties and in the following box find target

Then you need to paste the NO CD into the install folder where its namesake is, the computer will ask if you want to replace the original file and in this case you click yes. And that should be it, a working (1 player) copy of the game that you have downloaded
As a foot note I would like to add that Daemon Tools can add encryption to help fool the game that it's legitimate The Encryption modes that it offers are as standard. But other 3rd party addons are available from the
Daemon tools site
·
Safedisc ·
Securom ·
Laserlock · RMPS Emulation
In some release's you will get info in the .NFO telling you the encyption needed so you know what to enable

I have bought the elder scrolls oblivion, it is a pc dvd rom.
I installed it on my computer and also my sons.
The problem is now we both cant play at the same time because we need the DVD inserted to play.
Is there any simple way for me to make a back up copy of the dvd's so we can get around this problem without having to purchase another game.
I have a dvd burner and blank dvd's but do not know where to start.
thank you for any help

SP4,
Great Job on the guide! Wish I had the for-site to find something like this when I was a beginner. It would have saved me many hours of trial and error.
Thank you so much.

ok well a new problem has arose..
finished installing game on sons pc wich has vista..All ok no problems
When i try to install the game on my pc or wifes the disc is not acnowledged readers dont see the disc on either machine they are all identical except the 2 that dont see the disc have xp pro.
I have checked for securom and removed all nero stuff still no go.
Any ideas?
Are we talking a cd/dvd not an image file? If we are then i have no idea as all writing software will make the disc compatible between OS's or there would be no point in them.

sorry it is the actual game disc i purchased.. a pc dvd
So you have bought a game, and only your son's Vista will recognise it.
My first call would be to clean the drives

It took me a while to find this guide and though it is helpful, my specific question was not answered.
I installed Half Life 2 Death Match, Day Of Defeat, and Counter Strike Source but I can not play them on an unsecure server. I'm fairly certain it is because I have old copies of the games. When I try to connect to a server it says that I could not connect because my version does not match the server's. I don't have a steam account, but if I could find the updated cfg's, then I could overwrite my existing cfg files and update them that way. If not, then I was wondering if there is any other way to update my games so that I can connect to unsecure servers. I downloaded them from demonoid and the original uploader hasn't been around for quite a while so I can't get help that way.
I'm new to PC gaming and I've learned quite a bit in one week, but I'm still a little green. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the guide and your help in advance.

Nice, just one thing. Before adding the no-cd exe file, add "org" eg UT3.exe to UT3org.exe to the original file name. It helps for later on if you want to load patches later on down the track, as patches typically don't recognise the game unless the original exe is there. The odd clever no-cd files sometimes add the original exe along with the no-cd file for this purpose.
