Hello Darksider Friends ,

I put this little guide together for those who want to Slipstream SP3 into Windows both Fast and Easy ! I used to Slipstream the old way which is kind of time consuming . Then I found this Little Gem of a Program called "nLite" that will Slipstream XP with just a few simple clicks of the mouse . All the steps below using nLite have been tested by me and the actual CD I created was tested on a fresh install and works great .

nLite will be good for anyone who has no experience at Slipstreaming or anyone who wants a Fast Hassle Free Slipstream . nLite is free to the public and it's a Great Little Program . So if you want to Slipstream and are not sure how , your worries are over . nLite practically does it for you (other than a few mouse clicks) . Enjoy the guide and your new SP3 Slipstreamed Windows XP . biggrin.gif

Note: Your original Windows XP CD must have at least service pack 1 already integrated for this tutorial to work. For most people this isn't an issue because in most cases Windows XP CD's that have been sold over the past several years already include SP1 or SP2 .

Ok , heres how to Slipstream Service Pack 3 into Windows XP using nLite :

1. Insert your Windows XP installation disk into your CD/DVD Drive
2. Download the Official Service Pack 3 from Microsoft
3. Download and install nLite >>>> URL - http://www.nliteos.com/download.html
4. Start Up Your nLite Program.
5. Click "Next". When you get to the "Locating the Windows Installation" page, Click on "Browse" and select the drive where your Windows XP installation CD is located.
6. You will now need to create a folder to save your work to . (you can create a folder in advance if you want to , Name it "WindowsXP-SP3 or something to that effect) . Or you can click on "Make New Folder" button, type in a folder name, and click "Ok". If you create folder in advance , just direct nLite to save to the folder you created .
7. Click "Next" until you get to "Task Selection" page, and select "Service Pack" and "Bootable ISO" options then click on "Next"
8. Now you will click "Select" and browse to and select the Service Pack 3 exe. file that you downloaded earlier in step 2
9. nLite will now integrate Windows XP Service Pack 3 into your Windows XP installation. Once it's finished, click on "OK" . (IMPORTANT NOTE : Once it finishes integrating SP3 there may be a slight pause for a minute so after clicking "OK" just be patient and let it finish) . After the slight pause , the 'Next" button will no longer be grayed out and you can proceed to click "Next"
10. Now , in the "Bootable ISO" page you will need to create the new ISO image to be burned to a CD. Under "Mode", click the option to "Create Image" then click "Make ISO". Your new slipsteamed Windows XP SP3 ISO will now be created and ready to burn to a CD.
11. Now all you have to to do is use your CD burning utility to burn the ISO to a disk , I like using "Magic ISO" to burn my bootable ISO's but you can use what you preferre .

Congrats , You now have a Bootable Windows XP SP3 CD ready to work for you !!! a013.gif

No , you are simply using the nLite program . nLite does it all by following the directions in the guide . devileek.gif

xSonarx , I appreciate the links and stuff but I posted this as a easy to uderstand guide for whoever
wanted to use it here on DarksideRG . My guide is not the same as the one you linked . Yes there are
guides to slipstreaming on the web but I posted this on the forum so people can use it from here if
they so desire .

Like I said in the intro of the guide devil read.gif , This is tested and works great the way my guide
is worded . I tried to make it as short and simple as possible . This was posted with the intention of
a one stop guide for slipstreaming so people wouldn't have to go anywhere else to learn to slipstream.
Anyway , like I said above , I hope this guide will be of help to those here on DarksideRG to be able to
slipstream SP3 both fast and easy .

Again , for those of you who don't know how to slipstream or want to do it easy and fast , this little guide
will be for you . So , anyone who wants to ues this guide , have at it , it works great for me .

There , enough said !!! biggrin.gif Hope someone gets as much use out of nLite as I did for slipstreaming . devileek.gif

Well I put my 2cents in instead of starting a new topic ;p

I am not sure on that one LOG , I know it can be done but you will have to get
that info elsewhere . That is something I haven't tried . This guide is just for a
basic Slipstream just adding SP3 to Windows XP .

I will evetually try what your talking about but haven't got that far yet , so I can't
answer your question here . I will be looking into it because I would like to learn
to do that myself .

Thanks for looking at my thread though and thanks for your questions LOG . biggrin.gif
